Last time we covered him, we wondered what South London groove-master Jodie Abacus could possibly throw at us next, but we aren't left guessing anymore as new single 'She In Love With The Weekend' is a funk-filled rollercoaster full of slap bass and vintage funk. We can only presume that Abacus was fed a diet of Stevie Wonder and James Brown as a youngster with his tracks being retro disco floor-fillers saturated in modern subjects. All about a girl who parties too hard, there is a sad tinge to the track but the music does nothing to reflect that. If this track doesn't make your face smile and your feet tap, you must simply be musically deficient. - SJ
